Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 19, 2026
Homebuying Brief ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website homebuyingbrief.com (the "Service"). We care about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information you enter
Our rebate calculator asks for a home price and a state so we can estimate your potential rebate. This is processed in your browser, in real time, to show your estimate. We do not require an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, address, or phone number to use the calculator. We do not store or log the price or state you enter on our servers.
2. Automated log data and analytics
Like most websites, we process standard, non-identifying information that your browser sends automatically, such as your device's IP address, browser type, referring page, the pages you visit, and the date and time of your visit. We use privacy-conscious analytics tools, currently Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, to understand aggregate, anonymized usage so we can improve the site. These tools may set cookies. You can opt your browser out of our analytics by visiting any page with ?internal=1 added to the URL, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.
3. Affiliate and advertising partners
Homebuying Brief participates in affiliate programs. When you click certain links to partners, such as mortgage, real-estate, or rebate services, those partners or their affiliate networks (for example, impact.com or CJ Affiliate) may set a cookie to credit us if you take an action. These cookies help attribute referrals; we do not receive your financial account details, and using these links never costs you more. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details, and review each partner's own privacy policy for how they handle your data.
4. Third-party links
The Service links out to third-party websites such as lenders, agents, brokerages, and public resources. We have no control over, and are not responsible for, the content or privacy practices of those sites.
5. Your choices
You can decline non-essential cookies, use your browser's privacy and Do Not Track settings, and opt out of our analytics as described above. Because we do not collect personal contact information through the Service, there is no account for you to manage.
6. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
