Recording a deed in Westchester County costs about $185 and a mortgage about $145 (a 2-page deed (including its TP-584 and RP-5217 filing fees) and a 16-page mortgage (including its mortgage tax affidavit fee); NYS/county mortgage RECORDING TAX (below) is separate and much larger), per the Westchester County Clerk, Land Records Division's fee schedule. Westchester County Clerk's base recording fee is a $45.00 statutory fee plus $5.00 per written page side, the same structure for a deed or a mortgage. Deeds also carry two mandatory filing fees (TP-584 transfer-tax return $5, RP-5217 property transfer report $125-$250) and mortgages carry a $5 mortgage tax affidavit fee where required. These are on top of, and separate from, the ad valorem mortgage recording tax.
